SPEL’s Turnover up

SPEL Semiconductor limited, India’s first & only Semiconductor IC Assembly & Test Company. Announcing its un-audited results, SPEL reported sales of Rs. 123.08 million with a net profit of Rs. 6.87 million. The Company is hopeful of improved performance in the current & following quarters of FY 06-07. This growth trend in turnover is expected to continue in FY 2006-07 also due to the strong demand being experienced by SPEL’s existing Customers.

SPEL on the growth path, is nearing completion of establishing the state-of-the-art LMP package. This will considerably increase SPEL’s attractiveness. SPEL also proposes to introduce 2 other new package lines that are currently in high demand.

A $250 million expansion plan spread over the next 5 years has been chalked out to support SPEL’s growth. This includes increasing the capacity of its existing Assembly & Test facilitie, setting up a second facility with in India as a SEZ unit, as well as supporting a proposed overseas acquisition. SPEL ICs are used globally in consumer electronic applications such as cell Phones, PDAs, Desktop PCs, Notebook Computers, and Automobiles & Digital Cameras.
