SPEL initiated an on-going Leadership
Development program several years ago to identify & groom talent,
enabling them to take up leadership positions within our Organization.
Eventually this helps develop enthusiasm & motivation among Employees to
better their performance. This also enables existing leaders to
concentrate on our future growth. |

In this context, we are glad to inform
you that Mr. D. Balakrishnan (Balki) has been elevated to the position
of CEO, SPEL India. Balki will be responsible for all of SPEL’s global
operations. Balki needs no introduction as he has already been
interacting with you for many years now. He holds a Bachelors degree in
Electronics & Communication Engineering as well as an Executive MBA
degree. He has been with SPEL for over 18 years, having started his
career with us as a Line Engineer. His leadership & commitment have been
instrumental in him having grown within our Organization and we are sure
that this will also see SPEL sustaining the growth momentum. |

Balki is well supported by an
efficient team consisting of Mr. N. Sivashanmugam (Chief Financial
Officer), Mr. P. Balamurugan (GM - Engineering) Mr. P. T Suresh, (GM –
Facilities) and Mr. G. B. Badri Narayanan who has been handling
Operations, is now elevated to the position of GM - Operations. Mr. J.
Kiran Kumar who is part of SPEL America (handling our US Sales &
Marketing) has been elevated to the position of Director – Sales &
Marketing and will also be reporting to Balki. This is in addition to a
Team of over 500 dedicated Managers, Engineers, Executives, Technicians
& Operators who have averaged over 10 years with us. |

|
|
|
Mr. Soman Varghese (Sam) who has been
associated with SPEL since 2000, has played a significant role along
with the rest of our Team in growing SPEL to the current level. We
appreciate the value of Sam’s contribution to forward the Organization’s
mission and wish him the best. |

SPEL stood up to the testing
recessionary period that is perhaps now behind us. Like most companies
globally, we too had to implement drastic expense reduction measures. We
furthered our Lean Manufacturing focus and invested in Energy Saving
Equipment. Our Employees also contributed through a reduction in their
salary. SPEL appreciates its Employees’ commitment and encourages them
by assisting their career growth, as we have already demonstrated.
Having successfully crossed many hurdles in our progress, SPEL is
committed to continuously work towards exceeding expectations in all
areas of our business. |
