Mr. D. Balakrishnan, COO SPEL spoke at the Pre Budget IT Interaction organised by Tamilnadu State Council of FICCI on Nov 12, 2007. Representing IT Hardware, he gave recommendations on the various tax related issues faced by the industry. He also presented a comparison on SEZ & STPI which was much appreciated.

Speaking on behalf of the Indian Semiconductor industry, Mr. Balakrishnan highlighted the need for incentives & single window facilities at customs to remain competitive. He also presented examples of other countries which are supporting the industry with infrastructural benefits.
