Mr. Ar Rm Arun, Vice Chairman of SPEL and Co-chairman of FICCI’s Indo-Taiwan Joint Business Council (JBC), jointly led a Business Delegation to Taiwan. Held together with the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA), the purpose of the Delegation’s visit was to showcase India’s attractiveness as a cost-effective manufacturing destination coupled with a rapidly growing market. Representing the Electronics Hardware Industry in particular, Mr. Arun made a presentation titled India : Opportunities Beyond.

In his presentation, Mr. Arun detailed the current economic climate in India. Focusing on the booming Electronics Hardware Manufacturing industry, he charted out the recent developments in India. A special mention was made about the emerging Consumer Electronics market following the heels of a huge retail market now luring ventures by major Indian Corporates.

Presenting India as an ideal manufacturing base, Mr. Arun invited Taiwanese Companies to setup in India and make use of the attractive industrial climate. Information about Government initiatives such as Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and recommendations about industry, trade & investments opportunities were found very useful by Industry representatives of Taiwan.
