Mr. Ar Rm Arun, Vice Chairman SPEL Semiconductor Limited was invited to speak at the Entrepreneurs’ Forum Panel Discussion organized by the ZVEI-Future Congress in Berlin on Sep 7, 2006

Mr. Roland Tichy of Handelsblatt (a leading Business Newspaper in Germany) moderated the panel.

Representing Asia with specific reference to India, Mr. Arun spoke on the role of an Entrepreneur, India’s potential in the Electronics Hardware Manufacturing Industry, especially how Tamil Nadu was fast developing into a hub for Electronics Hardware Manufacturing and why Germany should use the USA model to come to India.

He stressed on the need for Values to play an important role in defining the long term goals of Companies and significantly contributing to the development of society. He mentioned about the need to improve productivity as a contributing factor to economic growth. He also spoke about Entrepreneurs realizing approaching inflection points and proactively adapting to changes in business environments, without having to depend on legislation alone to take us forward.

The German Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers Association (ZVEI) represent the economic, technology & environmental policy interests of the German electrical & electronics industry at the national, European & International levels. It provides precise information on the industry’s economic, technological and legal parameters. As a core task, ZVEI sets up platforms for co-operation amongst partners from diverse areas.

The ZVEI works towards comprehensive deregulation and dismantling bureaucratic constraints at all levels. Its activities are based on the exchange of experience & views of its members. It keeps track of current developments in the different market segments and keeps its members informed about standards & matter of accreditation, certification and quality assurance pertaining to the industry.
